WHAT TO EXPECT
Planning on visiting us?
That's great!
We are so excited to meet you and welcome you into our church family. Here is some info you may find helpful prior to joining us for service.
WHAT TO EXPECT ON A TYPICAL SUNDAY

Though the church building faces Lockport Street, we recommend parking in a free public lot just north and east of the Plainfield Library, between Illinois Street and Route 59. From there, you can approach the back entrance in the northeast corner of the building, or for ramp access use the Illinois Street entrance. Once inside, you'll be greeted by our Hospitality Team, who can answer any of your questions.

While contemporary in feel, our gathering implements aspects of liturgy designed to guide our worship around the truths of Scripture. We read, pray, and sing truths about our unchanging God in a way that connects with our current lives. Each week there are about four songs that vary in style and theological emphasis. We celebrate the Lord's Supper every week, and it's open to any who have experienced the new birth in Jesus Christ and live as His disciples. Our worship gathering lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes in total.

If you're bringing children, our Hospitality Team can guide you toward the kiosk to check your kids in and print name badges. Drop-off for Nursery and Pre-K kids begins at 8:45 and class starts at 9:00, while Elementary students meet in their classes after the opening worship songs with the congregation. For more specifics, check out our CTK KIDS! page

Partway through the gathering, before the sermon, there's a time for announcements, followed immediately by a two minute break. This break is when Elementary-aged kids are released to their class. Feel free to get up, greet those nearby, and grab a cup of coffee or a bottle of water.

Our sermons aim to unfold the text of Scripture in such a way that is faithful to the original intent, exalts God, and connects with the hearer.

We're a church that values connection, so many people linger for a while after worship. Downtown Plainfield offers great spots for new friends to follow up over coffee or an early lunch. Also, be sure to talk to someone about Life Groups and other fellowship opportunities, where our connection continues throughout the week.

Yes! CTK KIDS! works alongside parents to build a strong, gospel-centered foundation while having fun. We do this by teaching about who God is and what He has done throughout Scripture. For more specifics, check out our CTK KIDS! page.
Middle and high school students are encouraged to partake in our normal church service.
